Belton High School
Describe your senior year in three words.
Difficult to let go.
Finish this sentence: “I will always remember…”
early morning and late night practices everyday, all year round.
Tell us about your favorite teacher throughout all of high school and what made him/her special.
My favorite teacher and coach of high school was Coach Engelke. He was so down to earth and treated all of his athletes like adults and not little kids.
If you could create one mandatory course for future seniors, what would it be?
If I could create a mandatory course for seniors it would be a life skills class. You’d look at financial things like paying taxes and balancing checkbooks in one semester and then real world tasks like writing a resume, changing a tire, jumping a car battery, cooking, etc.
Tell us about an accomplishment you are most proud of and why.
The accomplishment I’m most proud of is being voted a team captain on the football team. This is because I worked every day to be a leader for my team, so by being a captain I was able to lead and teach guys from the freshman C team all the way to varsity starters.
Who are your strongest supporters and why?
My strongest supporters are my brothers. We have always been very close so their accomplishments are mine, and mine are theirs.
What’s next after graduation?
After graduation I’m going to attend Stephen F. Austin State University to major in kinesiology. After college I’m going to commission into the Army as a second lieutenant. After I retire I want to go into coaching or tattooing.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years I see myself still in the Army, trying to do the same thing I did in high school, trying to better myself and be a leader to better the people around me.
What are you most looking forward to reading, watching, or doing this summer?
I’m most looking forward to just relaxing before I head to college.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
The only thing I want to share is to all the students who can’t wait to leave high school, take your time. Everyone always says it but your senior year goes by way faster then you think. Get involved in as many clubs, sports and activities as you can to cement the good times in your memory. Have fun in school and just turn your work in and you’ll pass.
