Belton High School
Describe your senior year in three words.
The last milestone.
Finish this sentence: “I will always remember…”
the teachers and students that helped me reach this point.
Tell us about your favorite teacher throughout all of high school and what made him/her special.
Throughout high school I had a teacher who at first wasn't my ideal teacher, Mr. Giustino, who was my intro to engineering teacher. I took his class throughout high school and he has seen me grow into the person that I am today, supporting and teaching his students what it means to be in engineering. His class, although it could be challenging at times, was very intriguing and fun with 3D modeling to building and programming robots. With all the work that we put forward his lessons were always something to look forward to. I know you asked about one teacher, but I do not wish to leave out another teacher who was also one of my two favorites – Mrs. Edhelhauser. She is the teacher for AVID, and I was lucky enough to get to experience her class for two years as a junior and as a senior. There were times where we students were unable to believe in ourselves but she never gave up on us encouraging us to pursue paths to success even if it wasn't through college. Mrs. E has been and will always be one of my favorite teachers of all time.
If you could create one mandatory course for future seniors, what would it be?
I would have to say something like money matters, although I didn't have the chance to take what I hear from other students is that it is very helpful as it teaches them about investments, taxes and so on.
Tell us about an accomplishment you are most proud of and why.
My best accomplishment would be that I am fortunate to be able to graduate high school. My parents don't have a high school education as such I am a first generation high school graduate.
Who are your strongest supporters and why?
My family has definitely been the ones who have encouraged me the most to pursue an education not just stopping at high school but to get through college as well.
What’s next after graduation?
I will be attending UTSA majoring in computer engineering.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I hope to have secured a job and be able to start a family.
What are you most looking forward to reading, watching, or doing this summer?
This summer I plan to work to help pay for my college but I will try to make the most of the free time that I get.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
To others who think that their futures are set in stone, I can say for certain that it isn't if you are willing to put up a fight.
