Belton New Tech High School @ Waskow
Describe your senior year in three words.
Ever-changing, memorable and unexpected!
Finish this sentence: “I will always remember…”
the never-ending marching season that lasted until almost Christmas! It was so much fun and very memorable!
Tell us about your favorite teacher throughout all of high school and what made him/her special.
One of my many favorite teachers of this year would be my band director, Mr. Kwaku. He always makes the class fun and enjoyable by being very relatable and invested in the band. He truly can make a difference in people's lives by showing them that he cares about all of us! I really feel like the band is my second home because of the wonderful directors and boosters!
If you could create one mandatory course for future seniors, what would it be?
I would make a course dedicated to researching what you want to do after high school. It would be an opportunity to truly discover where you want to be. This course could also double as a life skills course aiding our current generation in how money, life, and general college habits to further our success as a class. Also can be a place to catch up in the present day!
Tell us about an accomplishment you are most proud of and why.
My proudest achievement is my ICE award. ICE stands for innovation, creativity, excellence, is the highest award for a New Tech project.
Who are your strongest supporters and why?
My strongest supporters are my family because they are always looking out for me and they definitely have my back!!
What’s next after graduation?
I am attending the Texas A&M University and plan to study business. I will be going into college with almost 30 hours of credit due to my AP courses and Dual Credit courses through Temple College.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years I hope to have a steady job with a steady income so I can provide for a family!
What are you most looking forward to reading, watching, or doing this summer?
I am looking forward to spending the summer with my family before I go off to college. I am very excited to move in with my cousins and roommates as well!
Is there anything else you would like to share?
I would like to share some advice to my fellow classmates as well as any onlooker that sees this. My advice is to look at life as a whole rather than little instances. If you look at life for what you have, and rather than what you should have, life becomes easier to navigate as a whole that way. Oftentimes we as a class take our lifestyle for granted, our friends and family for granted, and finally our school and staff for granted. If anything this pandemic has taught me it should be the words of appreciation, comradery and revival. If you have $86,400 in your hands and somebody takes $10 from your hands. Are you going to throw away the rest of that money because someone took $10 out of it? No, absolutely not! You would want to keep the change and enjoy that right? Of course you would want to do that! So there are 86,400 seconds in the day, so don't throw the rest away because someone ruined 10 seconds of it. Look at life as a whole and keep your change! We never know when someone might need that 10 seconds of that time. Be generous with what you have been blessed with in life, and share it with others! Make a difference, make YOUR difference!! Make the world a better place because one little pebble can still make ripples in an ocean!
