Belton New Tech High School @ Waskow
Describe your senior year in three words.
Different beyond belief.
Finish this sentence: “I will always remember…”
the sewage pipes exploded in the band hall bathrooms in 2019.
Tell us about your favorite teacher throughout all of high school and what made him/her special.
I would say Stephen Scallorn, my English teacher from my sophomore and senior year was my favorite. His absolute confidence in everything he teachers, believes and does truly inspired me to grow as an individual throughout my high school career.
If you could create one mandatory course for future seniors, what would it be?
I would create a class about finances, money handling, and the absolute truth of the real world with no bias beliefs or logical fallacies.
Tell us about an accomplishment you are most proud of and why.
I have preceded to be the highest ranking youth tuba player in the area for the past four years. I am proud of this accomplishment because I actually am not very talented when it comes to musical theory, self motivation, and support for myself, so when I actually accomplished something and grew as a person specifically in music, it was one of the most revitalizing experiences I’ve ever had.
Who are your strongest supporters and why?
My strongest supporters are my tuba lessons teachers, Ben Kauffman and Joel Horton, my band directors, my parents and my section because they have always been there through the hard times and have always pushed me to grow exponentially physically, mentally and emotionally as a member of today’s society.
What’s next after graduation?
I plan to attend Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky to study accounting, finance and German.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself working at a Fortune 500 company on their revenue logistics team or as their attorney.
What are you most looking forward to reading, watching, or doing this summer?
I am looking forward to moving to Louisville early this summer to get a head start on my BA in Accounting through Bellarmine Universities’ Early Entry Program while also exploring a completely new landscape.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
I have loved the past four years in the Belton Independent School District even though it has been quite difficult. I will never forget how it has shaped me to be the person that I am today!
