Knowledge Quest

Instructions

You need to earn 100 Knowledge Points each quarter. You need to complete at least one of each Knowledge Tasks below. Other opportunities for points and bonus points may pop up on Schoology, especially on snow days, sub days and other low-attendance days (like before breaks). You will have some time in class to work on these. I use some Ted Talks in class, you may use those for this assignment.

  • Read & Watch a Curiosity post
  • Summarize and reflect on what you learned
    • Summary: 3-5 sentences explaining what the article is about
    • Reflection: 4-6 sentences explaining why you chose the article, what you learned, what you agreed / disagreed with, etc...
  • 10 points per post
  • 2 bonus points for defining new terms / ideas (max of 6 points per article)
  • Read a Newsela article
  • Summarize and reflect on what you learned
    • Summary: 3-5 sentences explaining what the article is about
    • Reflection: 4-6 sentences explaining why you chose the article, what you learned, what you agreed / disagreed with, etc...
  • 5 points per article
  • 2 bonus points for defining new terms / ideas (max of 6 points per article)
  • Watch a TED Talk or TED-Ed Talk
  • Summarize and reflect on what you learned

  • 5 points for videos shorter than 5 minutes
