EArth Day Sugar Cookies

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup AP shortening

1.5 cups sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

2.5 cups AP Flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

3/4 tsp salt

2 tbsp milk

blue + green food paste coloring

Preheat oven to 350°F.

1. Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.

2. Add egg and vanilla.

3. Sift dry ingredients, all except sugar, together

4. Beat in dry ingredients until smooth.

5. Blend in milk.

6. Drop by tablespoon about 3 inches apart onto a greased cookie sheet.

7. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.
