The high school believes in educating the whole child. We offer sports, tutoring, clubs and associations that connect to the students' interests, career planning and individualized academic planning. Our Ford PAS program is nationally recognized. This program enhances a student's 21st century education by giving them skills in problem solving, critical thinking, team work, communication and global awareness.
Our science and STEM program are conducted in state of the art science labs. Students in the STEM program experience the real world lab experience from instruction to dissection. The engineering track students participate in the “First Robotics” competitions and learn how to design or redesign products by using Engineering Pro CAD programming. The business career pathway gives students a real life entrepreneurial experience by preparing and presenting a business plan to outside business leaders. In their senior year, the business students go through mock interviews conducted by Ford volunteers. New this year is Microsoft Certification, a credential that industry recognizes as highly desirable. The third pathway offered is health care. This industry is growing and demands that students be prepared by studying medical terminology, medical math and anatomy/physiology.
Our entire philosophy revolves around preparing the student for college and career. We offer concurrent enrollment classes that students can receive credit from Lake Superior State University and/or Davenport University. These classes not only save money for parents, but also provide the opportunity for students to finish their college plan in less than 4 years. We have a safe, caring and highly qualified staff of individuals that work for the success of the student.
