2025-2026 School Year
Dear Smith Clove Families,
It is hard to believe how fast this year has gone! I want to take a moment to thank you for sharing your incredible children with us each day. It has truly been a joy and a privilege to watch our children learn, grow, laugh, and shine throughout the year.
This spring also marks a very meaningful milestone for me personally, as I retire after over 30 years in education — including 20 years serving this district as both a teacher and administrator. When I look back on this amazing journey, my heart is filled with gratitude and pride for all that we have accomplished for our children, the meaningful family partnerships and amazing colleagues who have made my professional journey so special.
There is something truly magical about a K–1 school. The excitement children bring each morning, the pride they feel when mastering something new, the hugs in the hallway, the endless curiosity, and of course, the laughter — have been gifts I will always treasure. I know I will deeply miss seeing and hearing our children each day and experiencing the joy and energy they bring.
Thank you for your partnership, your kindness, and your trust over the years. It has been an honor to be part of this amazing community. My wish is for all of our families to carry the same warmth and happiness that you have given to me throughout my career.
I would also like to wish our first graders (now almost second graders) and their families well as you continue on your amazing journey of learning, growing, and having fun in your new schools. We are so proud of you, and your new teachers and administrators are excited to welcome you and partner alongside your next journey.
For our Kindergartners (almost first graders) and our incoming Kindergarteners, you will have an AMAZING year with your teachers, Mrs. Markiewicz, and your new principal Ms. Alyson Callahan!
Wishing you and your families a beautiful summer filled with laughter, adventure, and time together.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Christine Arlt, Ed.D.
