Happy New Year, Smith Clove Families!
There is something about the start of a new year that brings a renewed sense of purpose and excitement for all that lies ahead. As we begin this next part of our school year, we are thrilled to welcome our children and families back and look forward to a wonderful second half of the year.
The months ahead will be filled with continued learning, growth, and opportunities for our children to learn new skills, strengthen relationships, and celebrate their achievements. We are grateful for the strong partnership we share with our families and truly appreciate your ongoing support as we work together to help all of our children thrive.
Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. We look forward to the months ahead and all that we will accomplish together. Here’s to a happy, healthy, and amazing New Year!
Fondly,
Christine Arlt, Ed.D.
As we head into the winter months, we are reminding all M-W families to please have arrangements in place for your child in the event of a 2-hour delay, early dismissal or school closure, and to make sure your child is aware of these alternative plans.
SchoolMessenger is the district’s primary parent/guardian notification system. As always, parents and guardians may receive important notifications from the if there is a change to the student schedule or if school is closed, we will notify families by 5 a.m. via email, phone or text (if opted in, see instructions), based on preferences selected on the Parent/Student Portal. Information will also be posted on the district’s website, Facebook page and Instagram account.
Stay warm and Happy December, Crusaders!
Free Meals - All Students
2025-2026 School Year Reminder
All students enrolled at Monroe-Woodbury Central School District are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch in school at no charge to your household each day of the 2025-2026 school year.
All students will be able to participate in these meal programs on the first day of school without having to pay a fee or submit an application. All schools provide a breakfast program for students upon entry into school and a lunch program for students in the cafeteria.
School meal programs offer breakfast and lunch meals that meet strict federal nutrition standards, aligned with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and are planned with student preferences in mind. If packing food from home, students can add to their home brought lunch at no cost by choosing at least three of the five items offered, (e.g., low fat milk, proteins, whole grains, vegetables, and fruits), one of which must be a vegetable or fruit. We invite students to show their support for their school food service program through participation.
