The School Counseling Department has a full array of services that are designed to assist MVHS students. If you have any questions about high school courses, the college selection process, personal concerns or general questions, your school counselor can help you or point you towards someone who can.
School Counselor Responsibilities:
Individual student academic planning and goal setting
Course selection/student scheduling
School counseling classroom lessons based on student success standard
Short-term counseling to students
Referrals for long-term support
Collaboration with families/teachers/ administrators/ community for student success
Advocacy for students at individual education plan meetings and other student-focused meetings
Data analysis to identify student issues, needs and challenges
