Merrimack Valley Middle School
My name is Chris Ginty and I teach the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Design & Modeling and Automation & Robotics courses. Although I have been at the MV Middle School for only a short time (this is my 4th year) I have an additional thirty-one years of teaching experience at the MV high school. I received my bachelor's degree from the State University of New York - Oswego and completed my PLTW Engineering course certifications at the Rochester Institute of Technology. I have been a PLTW master teacher for the past 17 years and have had the opportunity to train many, many teachers to become future PLTW teachers. I am a strong advocate for STEM education because I knew that our future depends on enticing and educating students to excel in science, technology, ENGINEERING and mathematics.
"There's nothing I believe in more strongly than getting young people interested in science and engineering, for a better tomorrow, for all humankind." -Bill Nye
"PLTW empowers students to develop and apply in-demand, transportable skills by exploring real-world challenges. Through our pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science, students not only learn technical skills, but also learn to solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate, and collaborate."
