MVacay provides insider weekend updates and travel guides to residents and visitors of Martha’s Vineyard. It was founded in 2017 by Lis Bluford (me!) who also collaborates with the MV Chamber of Commerce and Steamship Authority to be a go-to resource for island happenings.
These options are designed to be flexible and accessible for businesses of all sizes.
⭐ Weekend Update Ads:
The Weekend Update is a curated guide featuring a selection of events and happenings each week. Only paid ads are guaranteed placement. It is published every Thursday year-round.
Banner Ad – Highest impressions, targeted reach. $100
Guaranteed Event or Business Shout-Out – Inline placement within the newsletter. $50

Instagram Grid Post – Standalone post with a custom caption. $250

Rotating Banner Ad in MVacay Mobile App – Rotated with up to 3 other ads on main pages. $50/month

You may qualify if your business is:
Minority-Owned (BIPOC, Indigenous, Queer or Woman-Owned)
Within their first year of business
Sole proprietor business
Alignment and engagement with MVacay's mission
Qualifying businesses will receive 1-month of banner ads on 1 MVacay mobile app, and 1 business per month will be named as a sponsor in a footer of an MVacay Weekend Update or Local Guide. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
If you qualify under one of the above, you are eligible to receive 1 month of free advertising so long as you pay for the following month (50% discount)
Available on a case-by-case basis. If you have ideas beyond what is mentioned above, email me at info@mvacay.com with the type of partnership you're interested in and I'd be open to chatting more! As a starting point, the minimum agreement for UGC used on your page or featuring you as a collaborator begins at $500.
You can gift an experience - a meal, hotel stay, event ticket or activity. In exchange for gifted experiences or press passes, Lis agrees to publish about any event or service that she has a positive experience with. The photographs and summary will organically be posted within a roundup or post 3-5 times within the year following the collaboration. Lis holds all editorial rights over which photos are published and the summary of the experience. Opportunities are limited to work during the dates and times provided by MVacay (remaining availability: August 2025). After the exchange of services, you are welcome to purchase additional coverage (email blasts, reposts, etc).
We can help support your hosts and concierges with timely resources to ensure your guests have a streamlined, easy experience visiting Martha’s Vineyard. We can turn any of our guides into physical, color one-pager print outs for you to distribute to guests. We are happy to white-label these with the name of your organization and collaborate on the guides your guests request most often. We provide timely insight into weekly events without you needing to have a local expert consolidating this information. Save yourself hundreds of hours of research and provide visitors with guidance to improve their stay. This can look like:
Creation of weekly, custom PDF printouts branded with your logo that share island happenings (you can also share these via email with guests)

MVacay is unique in that it captures attention from both island residents and potential or current island visitors. It is a Substack Bestseller Top 100 consistently ranking in the Travel category, with hundreds of paid subscribers.
MVacay drives a significant amount of traffic to our website through our social media presence on Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Facebook. With combined over 7,000 followers, or presence is small but mighty similar to that of a micro-influencer. Pinterest pins drive ~10,000 impressions per month. Instagram Insights show our posts reach 60% of non-followers in addition to our following.
MVacay has three apps in the Apple App store that link back to MVacay.com generating and driving even more traffic to our content. Each MVacay app links directly to events and guides. Combined in 2024, the apps have 65,000 downloads, 15,000 daily users. Upon searching Martha’s Vineyard in the app store the apps consistently rank highly.
