Band and Chorus Grades

Grading Procedures: 

Points will be given for all assignments, tests (playing and written), performances, classroom conduct, preparedness, practice, and daily participation. 

Test and Performances will account for 30% of grade. 

Practice Assignments/General Assignments will account for 25% of grade. 

Individual Participation will account for 20%.

Positive Group Collaboration will account for 20% of the grade. 

Preparedness (instrument, music folder, general materials etc.), will account for 5% of grade.

The general percentage scale for grades is as follows: 

100% - 90% = A 

89% - 80% = B 

79% - 70% = C 

69% - 55% = D 

54% - 0% = F  

Late Work:

Late work may* be accepted with point deductions as follows:

1 Day Late – 10 %

2 Days Late –20 %

3 Days Late – 30 %

4 Days Late – 40 %

On the 5th day and after, NO late work will be accepted!

*It is at my discretion (Mr.Vieyra) under which circumstances I will find acceptable to accept

late work or not.
