Internet Access and Technology for Our Students
In addition to the information below, please also check the MUSD Parent & Student Resources on COVID-19 page on musd.org for updated information
It is important that our students have access online and have a device that allows remote learning. MUSD guarantees that every student who needs a device for remote learning will receive one. Please contact your school principal through Parent Square to request a device.
Internet access is critical to remote learning. Currently, internet and mobile service providers are offering free and/or low-cost internet access. As neighbors, if you have Comcast, please follow these directions to enable Xfinity WiFi to share your network with others who may be in need.
Also, there might be times when internet is out and not available. When this occurs, some phones may support using your phone as a hotspot to get connected. Please see these directions to use your phone as a hotspot.
Please expand to view internet access options.
Free Internet Access Available Today:
Comcast / Xfinity WiFi - great option for all around access from various locations and residential areas (search the map for available hotspots)
AT&T Hotspots - similar to Xfinity above
Your phone may have the ability to turn into a hotspot
All major carriers (AT&T, Comcast, Sprint, T-mobile, Verizon, etc.) have agreed to provide unlimited bandwidth and waive late fees
Sprint & T-mobile will allow all handsets to enable hotspots and other carriers may follow

Expand to view troubleshooting tips & steps
First Steps
Check to make sure you are logged into your MUSD Google Account first, before trying to access other applications.
Close the application or webpage and then open it again and log back in
Completely shut down the device. Then reboot and log back in.
If the above steps did not resolve the issue:
Check the version of Chrome Browser or Chrome OS if you are using a Chromebook and update if needed. If these are not updated, some applications may not be accessible at all or may not work correctly. See below for instructions.
If you have an older loaner Chromebook, please check with your school principal for which days and times newer replacements are being distributed.
How to check and update Chromebook OS:
If the Chromebook OS version is significantly below the current version, some applications may not be accessible at all or may not work correctly. Please verify and update the Chrome OS to version 75 or higher.
Check for updates
Turn on your Chromebook.
At the bottom right, select the time.
Select Settings (gear wheel icon)
At the bottom of the left panel, select About Chrome OS.
Under "Google Chrome OS," you'll find which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook uses.
Select Check for updates.
If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.
