Science Specialist-4th, 5th and 6th grades

About Me

This is my 31st year teaching in the Milpitas Unified School District.  Throughout my career as an educator I have been a Science Specialist, Reading Intervention Specialist and a STEM Program Coordinator.  I was the Science Specialist at Burnett 30 years ago, and then was the first Science Specialist at Weller for 6 years. I took a leave of absence for a few years when my sons were born, returned to Burnett as a Reading Intervention Specialist and then developed the STEM program at Burnett.  I am now back to where my MUSD journey began-the Science Specialist at Burnett, teaching science to all of our 4th, 5th and 6th grade Bulldogs. 

I earned my Multiple Subject and General Science Credentials at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and my Masters Degree in Elementary Education at San Francisco State University.  .

When I am not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with family, including my husband and two sons.  My older son graduated from the Dugoni School of Dentistry and now works at a private practice in Mendocino, CA.  My younger son graduated with an accounting degree from Cal Poly SLO and will be working for Ernst & Young in San Jose. We travel, ski and spend time together in the mountains.  Recently I embarked on a new adventure, I established and am maintaining a bee hive in my backyard.  I am enjoying the process as I learn all about being a beekeeper.
