Hello Room 22 students and families!!

I am very excited about this year and meeting my new students! I know this year will be filled with growth, memories and lots of trial and error. I hope together, we can conquer this year by becoming a team. I look forward to meeting you in all forms this upcoming year. Thank you for your time and patience as we gear up for the new school year!

Materials for the year

I have prepared materials for your child already, however the following are supplies that we still need and may need to be replenished throughout the year. Note: "Share" means that others will get to take one/some to use, but not necessarily share and use at the same time.

These items are needed:

Donations

The past year and half has been rough. I know that many families have been hit hard financially during the pandemic. Please do not feel obligated to donate, however, if you would like to help, Room 9 will greatly appreciate it.

Class donations can be monetary by cash or checks sent to the office written to MUSD, noting it for Room 9. This money can be used for any educational subscriptions that are on or offline, or for materials I will personally buy for our classroom.

I also created a TPT class fund or wishlist on Amazon that I will be adding onto as the year continues! Amazon, Target, Dollar Tree, Walmart, Michael's, etc. gift cards are welcomed if that is easier.

About me, Mrs. Patel!

Hello students and families,

I am excited about this school year! I just completed 7 years of teaching this past year. I have taught 6th and 3rd grade. I am very excited to be starting another year and to meet all of my students in this year ahead. I am ready to continue to learn from a new set of students!

I am a mom of a one year old daughter and another one is on her way very soon. I have been enjoying motherhood to the fullest! I will be staying with her and the baby for some time during this school year but I will look forward to meet them initially in the beginning of the year!

I was born in New Jersey and then moved to Arizona when I was 8. I went to Arizona State University for college and moved to the Bay Area after getting married at the end of 2016. I must say, I don't miss the heat as much, but Arizona will always be close to my heart. I just earned a Masters in design and learning technologies a few years ago, which has been a great tool belt for teaching since covid has changed teaching in a few ways.

I am a typical teacher...I LOVE Target and definitely Old Navy! I am a vegetarian and a foodie! I enjoy listening to music and spending time with my family and friends, but mainly my nieces and nephews that live nearby, and now my daughter(s)!

I enjoy math and how it challenges me. I am passionate about teaching because I like to spend time with kids and being able to provide a positive attitude and outlook for their futures. Building character is something that I value personally and connect it to my students daily.

I am excited for this school year as I begin year 8 with my Room 22 students!
