As part of our ongoing process to continuously improve the quality of programs and meet accreditation standards, COEHS has implemented measures to assess perceptions, satisfaction, and on-the job preparedness of COEHS graduates. Three surveys have been developed to determine employers satisfaction with completers' preparation and completers perceptions of their preparation as relevant and effective to confront the responsibilities of the job (CAEP Revised 2022 Standards Workbook, 2021).
Survey items are aligned to The Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC) standards and Kentucky Teacher Performance Standards (KTPS) as well as components utilizing the Kentucky Framework for Teaching, a “research-based set of components of instruction aligned to the InTASC standards and grounded in a constructivist view of learning and teaching” (Kentucky Department of Education, 2017). The following topical areas are included in survey items:
Planning and Preparation
Environment
Delivery of Service
Professional Responsibilities
The COEHS “Survey of Employers” captures employer satisfaction of EPP program graduates to determine the quality and effectiveness of on-the job completers related to teaching standards (InTASC and KTPS).
The COEHS “Survey of 1st Year Completers” captures perceptions of satisfaction and on-the job preparedness of EPP program graduates related to teaching standards (InTASC and KTPS).
The COEHS “Survey of 2nd and 3rd Year Completers” captures perceptions of on-the job effectiveness and application of skills for EPP program graduates related to teaching standards (InTASC and KTPS).
