Biography

I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Electrical Engineering department at Memorial University, St. John's, NL, Canada. I received my Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering (Pass with Distinction) from Memorial University in October 2015 under supervision of Prof. Octavia Dobre. I received the B.Sc. (Distinction with honor degree, ranked first) and M.Sc. degrees from Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, all in electrical engineering, in 2002 and 2007, respectively. From 2003 to 2010, I was a Research and Teaching Assistant with the National Telecommunication Institute, Cairo, Egypt, where I conducted research in signal processing and wireless communications. Furthermore, I was responsible to deliver several technical training courses to graduate Engineers in cooperation with the big players in wireless communications field, e.g., Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, and ZTE companies.

  • Five-years holder of Student Outstanding Performance Award, Faculty of Engineering, Al-Azhar University: Oct. 1997- June 2002.
  • Ranked the first of a class of 60 students in the Electrical Engineering Department, as well as the first of all the Engineering Departments (500 students), Al-Azhar University: July 2002.
  • Topped the final high school examination of the entire Arab Republic of Egypt (science branch): July 1997.
