One has always wondered how teachers manage to be anywhere and everywhere almost at the same time. Some may write it off as them traveling between classrooms when classes are in session or teachers just being quick on their feet. For many the thought may not even have crossed their minds. However, there are always some who wish to know more, find the most prominent truth, and we are never ones to back down from a challenge.
Most agree that the worst places to walk to and from in the school are the classrooms on different floors. This should also apply to teachers as they too have to frequent different classrooms, on different floors, in order to teach different classes. Some teachers have a very frequent hike up and down the steps when they teach different subjects, which we assume, isn’t seen as particularly enjoyable. Though how come it doesn’t come up in conversation? Surely something that annoying happening so frequently would be a popular topic of conversations, if not at least mentioned from time to time, so why doesn’t it? One thing that could answer this puzzling problem is that maybe, there isn’t a climb at all.
The area of our inquiry is the science wing, with its many rooms with just as many locks. We have all wondered what was behind the doors outside Ms. Lo’s classroom, and why they are always locked. The answers we got from the investigation were mainly just explanations of how there are chemicals needed to be refrigerated or hazardous objects. Though in one room there were less confident answers, some teachers haven’t even been in the room in general. The room in question is the “Fire panel” door, supposedly holding the systems for the fire alarms and other electronics, though suspiciously large for a simple electronic board. Let’s also take into consideration the considerable number of science teachers who teach other classes, who have full access to all of the locked rooms in the science wing. Let's answer both questions with one solution, there is a third elevator.
Now this answers the question of why there isn’t much animosity towards traveling up the different levels since in a simple press of a button you can arrive on another level in seconds. It answers the what's behind the locked rooms in the science classrooms question too, but there is still one question remaining. Why keep it a secret? Well there are a few simple answers, the teachers simply don’t want to have kids going in and out of staff assigned areas, or maybe it is a less used way of transportation since one has to reside closer to the science classroom for it to be useful. Maybe it’s even unsafe to go on and keeping it a secret was a way to eliminate the risks of some adventurous kids hurting themselves. All could be an acceptable answer, though, true to our nature, we do have one final question left unanswered. Why does the elevator’s placement suggest that it would lead to the social studies wing- specifically Mr.Vodery and Mr. Robertson classrooms?
