Recently, an FDA test found impurities in many lots of hand sanitizer. These 10 lots contain all 8 oz products, equipped with the 816820028205 Universal Product Code (UPC) and have an expiration date on May 1, 2022. Every bottle was produced from May 9th to September 9th.
What were these impurities? The FDA announced that they had tested the composition of various departmentalized products, and it was announced that some of these products were obviously due to style abnormalities. At that time, values are other limited copies of characters addressed to FDA addressed to FDA requested by FDA. Other restricted impurities of impurities were distorted under the section. FDA stated that an "unacceptable level of Benzene, acetaldehyde and acetal impurities” have been discovered. The announcement further added, "So far, artnaturals has not responded to multiple attempts by the FDA to discuss contaminated hand sanitizers, such as manufacturer identification, recall potential, and degree of contamination. After the 4th of March, the FDA is asking consumers not to use specific hand sanitizers. "
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) classifies benzene as a carcinogen. In other words, over time, repeated inhalation, ingestion, or contact with benzene can lead to certain types of cancer. “The problem is benzene can be very hazardous, messing with the cells in your bone marrow. It can affect your marrow’s ability to produce red blood cells, which in turn can lead to anemia and abnormal bleeding. It can also affect your marrow’s ability to produce white blood cells, the guardians of your immune system. Weakening your immune system can in turn allow more infections, which is the exact opposite of what hand sanitizer is supposed to do.”
Next time you go to the store, check to make sure that the sanitizer you use is not on the FDA’s “do not use” sanitizers list, and ensure you check the ingredients on the label!
