Hacking has always been a problem however it’s becoming more dangerous and harmful as the Ukraine vs. Russia war is ongoing. There have been multiple data breaches and leaks, since February when Russia invaded Ukraine. Several hackers are targeting Russia exposing lots of confidential data. The government can’t do anything about it because the hackers stay anonymous by having a secure VPN.
Recently, there was a hacker who hacked 112gb of data from Russia to give to Ukraine. A Russian company called MashOil got hacked by a group of anonymous hackers. MashOil is a Moscow based company known for designing, manufacturing, and maintaining equipment used in the drilling, mining, and fracking industries. 140,000 emails were hacked and were posted publicly on the official website of “Distributed Denial of Secrets”. Another Russian group that was hacked was RostProekt. RostProekt is a Russian construction company based in the city of Ivanovo. Hackers hacked 2.4gb of email files from the company.
A quote from the group of hackers states “We are Anonymous. We have created a new site to host our upcoming leaks + future anonymous leaks. We also hacked Rostproekt emails as a treat to celebrate the new site & to hold you over while waiting for the upcoming dump(s).”
In conclusion, recent events have had hackers exposing lots of data from Russia to try to punish them.
