This past week, the Grade 7s finished and presented their science fair presentations. The Science fair is a project in which students choose a topic, research, and present their work to teachers in the science and physics dept. Some of the many presentations included Gulianna’s biology experiment on how artificial light affects the growth of plants and Constance Yang’s building bridges.
Gulianna Chen with an interesting project about how artificial light affects plant growth. In 2nd comes Hanjia Fan with a science project on how oil affects how plants grow. And finally, in first place, comes Carolina Cantu-Drivet with a captivating presentation on how age affects hand eye coordination.
In chemistry, our runner up is Sophie Cau, in 3rd with a presentation on how changing how you filter liquids changes the amount of salt inside Is Bowen Xu. In 2nd place is Ryln Mac with a presentation on how the amount of salt in water affects its boiling point, Ryln says “It is exciting and was a good experience during the science fair”. 1st, is Jerry Pang with a presentation on how different types of liquid affect how strong their cohesion is.
In Physics, Ben Zhou came in third with a project on how different coding scripts run code faster or slower. In second, was Constance Yang with a project on how different shapes of bridges affect their strengths and weaknesses. And in first place for Physics Is Frazier Lo with a project on how changing the dimensions (surface area) of propeller blades affects their thrust output.
