As of December 6, the GM Jim Benning has officially been fired from the Canucks. After having a terrible record this season, the Canucks have taken action to replace Jim Benning with Jim Rutherford. Jim Rutherford will be the president and interim manager for the Canucks. His contract with the Canucks will be three years and plans to improve their record and their performance on the table.
He signed a two year deal with the Canucks, making 2 million dollars this season and 2.5 million dollars next season. Bruce Bordeau is not the only person the Canucks brought in - The Canucks have also brought in Stan Styml to become interim manager and to replace Travis Green.
However Stan Syml will no longer be needed because Bruce Bourdereau will be taking his place. They have also appointed Scott Walker as assistant coach and Ryan Johnson who is the interim assistant manager.
The fans are feeling ecstatic as the Canucks have beaten the Boston Bruins and they have already started off with a win of 2-1. The Canucks are looking forward to a new team and the beginning of a winning Canucks team over the course of the next 5 to 6 months.
