Axolotl (Mexican Walking Fish)
Mexican Walking Fish are salamanders even though they don’t go into metamorphosis like other salamanders. They are critically endangered and the population is decreasing. Right now, people estimate that there are under 1000 Axolotls left in the wild. They can regain limbs because when they play, they eat each other’s limbs.
2. Naked Mole Rat
At birth, a Naked Mole Rat pup weighs less than a penny and can live up until around 30 years old. Naked Mole Rat don’t drink water because they get their hydration from their plants. They eat their poop because it helps them maximise their nutrient uptake. They also sleep on their backs and cuddle with their group to stay warm.
3. Slow Loris
The Slow Loris are good tree climbers and are Nocturnal. They have super big eyes to help them see in the dark. They have two tongues- an under tongue to clean their teeth and another tongue to get nectar from flowers. They eat tree sap, fruits, insects and lizards. The Slow Loris lives in tropical rainforests in Southeast Asia.
4. Capybara
Capybaras are highly social animals and are extremely agile on land. You can tell that they are social animals because other animals use them as furniture. They are the biggest rodent on earth and weigh as much as an bvcTheir teeth keep growing like a shark and are herbivores like some dinosaurs. They are fantastic swimmers and can sleep in water.
5. Mantis Shrimp
Mantis Shrimp that live in the Indian and Pacific Ocean. They can live up to 3-6 years and are luckily, not endangered. They eat mainly fish, crab, worms and shrimp. Their punches are so hard that they can break your finger. It can smash pieces out of a wall and can smash snail shells into pieces.Mantis Shrimp’s eyes detect more colour than any creature on earth. Their punch is so hard that for a second, it reaches the temperature of the sun.
