On behalf of my spiritual brothers and sisters out there in the world, I dedicate this article to those who suffer at the hands of the brutal monster that is Islamophobia, and those who are willing to make a change in this world. Lots of Muslims in this world haven’t been recognized after facing terrible and cruel hate crimes. Here are some of the many things that are tearing down the religion of Islam.
French Anti Separatism Bill
Brought to international attention in 2019 when a women chaperoning her son's school trip was asked to remove her hijab , the challenges surrounding religious symbols, particularly those associated with Islam, in France have reached the countries senate chambers in the form of a new 'anti-separatism' bill. The new measures approved by the senate, but unlikely to pass the National Assembly, would, for example, require Muslim women under the age of 18 (as well as mothers accompanying school trips) to take off hijabs their hijabs in public. This law targets the minority muslim population of France. The French Senate has already voted and came to the conclusion that hijabs must be taken off. Not only hijabs, but even any sort of Muslim religious clothing in general. Supporters of the bill in the French government say that they are trying to save Muslim women from being forced to wear something that they don’t want to. This is France, not an Islamic dictatorship country. They are obviously not trying to save Muslim women as they aren’t telling Christian women to take off their vestments. This is clearly a biased representation that doesn’t reflect well on France as a country. The fact that many Muslim women are taking to the streets with a ‘Hands off My Hijab’ movement shows that the French Senate and government are clearly trying to take off the hijab for a reason other than supporting the rights of women because they aren’t acknowledging these protests.
Detainment of Uighurs
Muslims in China (Uighurs) are being sent to re-education and labor camps in Xinjiang as the CCP (China Communist Party) isn’t supporting freedom of speech for Muslims and Islamic members. Uighurs are of Turkic descent and are lovely innocent Chinese citizens, but China has been pursuing a system of 're-education' of the Muslim population. In fact, the actions being taken against the Uighurs has been identified as a genocide by governments throughout the world, including those of Canada and the United States. Unfortunately, information about what is happening in those camps is difficult to access at this time. Xinjiang wasn’t always Xinjiang. Before Chinese colonizers it was East Turkestan, which was what the native Muslims called it.
Here are some other visuals that depict what has been happening in the world lately:
