Community, Compassion, and Mutual Respect
Recent events underscore how important it is that we prioritize working together to embrace our differences and celebrate our diversity because without these qualities, we are not living by our mission. District 80 is committed to treating every single student, staff member and member of the Mount Vernon community with compassion and respect. And that the students are given the opportunity to realize their ideal future.
The District will remain a culture of inclusivity, grounded in the ability to listen with the intent to understand. As we move forward together, our continued commitment to focus on training, culturally significant programming, and awareness for teachers and staff, as well as educational opportunities for students and open dialogue.
We have and will continue to stand together to protect the rights and dignity of one another.
Always seeking, growing, and learning.
