Office Space (Emeriti House). An emeriti-only, shared office space is located on the first floor of 1 Woodbridge. The Emeriti House includes a seminar room, a reading room, six desks (one of which can be adjusted to standing height) with accessible standard and USB plugs, two computers and a multi-function scanner/printer/copier, access to the College's wifi and kitchenette. For first time users, or for questions about the Emeriti House, please contact the Provost's office.
Emeriti Research Fund. Overseen by the Faculty Grants Committee, the Emeriti Research Fund provides support for the scholarly and creative activities of retired faculty. Emeriti are eligible to apply for a maximum of $1,000 each year for funding for travel to conferences or research expenses. Please visit the Emeriti Research Fund page for the guidelines, application form and due dates. All receipts and accounting for expenditures must be submitted electronically to provostsoffice@mtholyoke.edu.
Grants Office. Retired faculty interested in applying for external grants should contact the Grants Office, which provides assistance in obtaining funding for research or artistic projects from foundations, corporations and federal agencies.
Teaching at Mount Holyoke. The College has established a professor emeritus rate ($15,000 per course) for those retired faculty who return to teach at Mount Holyoke. At the discretion of the Provost's office, Emeriti are eligible to teach one course per year upon the invitation of a department or program. Courses must be approved as part of the regular staffing request process.
Auditing Courses at Mount Holyoke. Emeriti are eligible to audit one course per semester at Mount Holyoke. To learn more about auditing courses, or to apply to use this benefit, please see the information on the registrar's website, call them at 413-538-2025, or email them.
Five College Learning in Retirement (LIR). The 5CLIR program offers member-designed and moderated seminars, sponsoring as many as 50 seminars each year. Membership is required.
OneCard ID. Emeriti faculty are eligible to use their OneCards, which give them access to a variety of campus services. Emeriti may use their OneCard to check out materials from the library, to pay for services such as on-campus printing or copying related to their scholarship and for meals at the dining commons. OneCards are obtained from LITS.
Free Parking Decal. Emeriti have continued access to parking, renewed annually at no charge. Please call 413-538-2514 or visit the Parking Office.
Library Privileges. Emeriti continue to retain all borrowing privileges of a college community member. For questions on borrowing please contact the circulation department by phone at 413-538-2230, email them or visit the circulation desk just off the atrium in Williston Memorial Library.
Email Account. Emeriti continue to be eligible to use their college email account. For more information or questions about your email account, contact the LITS HelpDesk at 413-538-2600 or email them. If you're on campus, visit the HelpDesk in person. The HelpDesk is located in the Williston Memorial Library-Information Commons, 4th floor north (down the long hallway from the reading room).
Emeriti listserv. The Provost's office maintains a listserv for emeriti faculty, which includes retired, recently retired, and soon-to-be retired faculty at Mount Holyoke College. If you are not on the listserv and wish to be, please contact the Provost's office by phone at x2858 or via email.
Online campus directory. Emeriti are included in the online directory, unless they indicate otherwise. Contact the Provost's office with any changes in address or other contact information.
Alumnae Association Travel Program. Emeriti are eligible to participate in the Mount Holyoke Travel Program, sponsored by the Alumnae Association. Several trips are arranged each year.
Art Museum. Emeriti faculty are eligible to receive complementary biannual art museum newsletters as well as invitations to exhibition openings and receptions. If you are not already on the mailing list and would like to be, please send your contact information via email to the art museum. With advanced arrangements, emeriti are also eligible to use the resources of the art museum for research and teaching on campus.
Athletic Facilities. Emeriti receive the same, free access to Kendall Sports Complex as current employees. Spouses and partners of emeriti faculty can join Kendall for an annual fee of $150 from time of purchase.
Dance Performances. Emeriti are eligible for two complimentary tickets per dance performance—non-transferable. Tickets can be reserved two weeks prior to the event. Call 413-538-2848 and leave a message, or email the reservation office. Don't forget to identify yourself as an emeriti faculty member.
Rooke Theatre. Emeriti are eligible for two complimentary tickets per theatre performance—non-transferable. Contact the Theatre Box Office at 413-538-2406 or via email. Don't forget to identify yourself as an emeriti faculty member.
Willits-Hallowell Center. Emeriti continue to have full use of the facilities at the Willits-Hallowell Center. Willits can be reserved for hotel accommodations, brunch and luncheons as offered, or for private functions in their meeting and dining rooms.
Meals at Blanchard. At the cashiers station mention that you are a faculty member for the discounted faculty rate. Link to menu
