Resuming On-Site Training

As recently announced, improvements in the COVID-19 situation will now allow some Missionary Training Centers to resume on-site training for missionaries who meet identified criteria.

Beginning the week of June 21st, missionaries who meet the criteria listed below will be eligible to receive on-site training at their assigned MTC. Missionaries who are eligible will be contacted with further details. This criteria will be updated as conditions continue to improve.


Current Criteria for Training On-Site

Provo MTC

  • Current residents of the United States

  • Not assigned to learn a new language

  • Full COVID vaccination regimen and required waiting period recorded in Missionary Portal

Ghana

  • English-speaking residents of African nations who do not need a visa to enter Ghana

  • Not assigned to learn a new language

  • Negative COVID test within 3 days prior to their arrival date

New Zealand

  • Current residents of New Zealand and Australia

  • Not assigned to learn a new language

  • Negative COVID test within 3 days prior to their arrival date if traveling from Australia

All other missionaries will receive standard MTC training online as previously communicated. As conditions continue to improve and additional missionaries and MTCs are able to participate in on-site training, this information will be updated and affected missionaries will be contacted. We are excited to have missionaries gather at MTCs again and look forward to expanding in-person training opportunities as conditions allow.
