Frequently Asked Questions

When can I attend the temple?

You may attend the temple when you have an MTC scheduled appointment.  You may also attend on your preparation day when you do not have a schedule appointment (you will want to schedule your own appointment at the Provo City Center Temple).

Do I need to bring my own temple clothing?

For Elders:  If you are doing ordinances at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple, please bring your baptism clothing to the initiatory, endowment and sealing sessions if you have them (pants, shirt, and tie).  If you do not have temple clothing, the temple will provide it for you.

For Sisters: The temple will provide all that is needed.

Do I sign up individually or as a district?

Companionships that do not have a pre-scheduled trip to the Mount Timpanogos Temple on their P-day, are encouraged to make endowment appointment at the Provo City Center Temple and attend together as part of their preparation day activities.  You do not need to attend with your entire district.

When do I need to arrive at the temple?

Arrive 30 minutes before the ordinance begins. This is to provide plenty of time for issuing clothing for all missionaries in the session, as well as time for participating in a new experience.

What ordinances can I do at the temple?

Unless the MTC schedules another ordinance for you, you should only participate in endowments at the Provo City Center Temple on your preparation day.

Do I wear my name tag during the ordinance?

Please do not wear your missionary name tag during temple ordinances.

How do I bring a family name to the temple?

Preparing a name to bring to the temple is easy! Using the Ordinances Ready feature of the Family Search app you can easily see what temple ordinances your ancestors need. Click here for instructions on Ordinances Ready. After finding family names, you can print them in the computer labs in the S1 or T4 buildings. You may share family names with other members of your district.  If you desire to do ordinances for your own family names, please come to the temple with your family cards already printed.  You will not be able to print them at the temple.  Also, the temple is unable to return your family cards, but you can reprint them later, if desired.
