Biography:

Community Liaison and Advisor at Mt. Abraham Union High School, holds a BS in Science /Nutrition from the University of Vermont and an AD in Nursing from Prairie State College. Gerrie contributed to both the design and implementation of the pilot program Pathways in 2010. As Community Liaison, Gerrie has created an extensive database of community members who are willing to work with students in a variety of capacities from internships to apprenticeships. Prior to her work in Personalized Learning, Gerrie was the Bristol Recreation Director for thirteen years, during which time she used her strong community building skills to establish The Hub Teen Center, Bristol Skate Park, and the Bristol Pottery Studio. Her diverse background includes owning and operating a local bakery and gourmet cookie company, a midwife assistant, a nurse/ caretaker and professional gardener. Gerrie brings a variety of skills and experience to the Personalized Learning. Her strong focus on community connections and professional development has inspired students to take initiative on projects and pursue their goals.
