The Office of the Student Regent (OSR) and the Federation of Mindanao State University Supreme Student Councils (FEMSUSSCO) have been recognized as one of the Top 20 Finalists for the Most Outstanding Organization for Partnerships Award under the Ten Outstanding UN SDG Awards, according to the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN) Youth Philippines.
The recognition highlights the organizations’ exceptional innovation, impactful programs, and unwavering dedication to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). From initiatives such as Project STEP (Student Transformation, Empowerment, and Progress) to grassroots SDG advocacy, FEMSUSSCO and the OSR have demonstrated how student leadership can translate global policy into meaningful local action, addressing challenges in sustainability, education, health, peacebuilding, and community development.
In addition, FEMSUSSCO’s application for the Global Youth Program (GYP) has been reviewed and approved, providing opportunities for mentoring, support, and guidance to further strengthen its initiatives. The organization will also be included in the running list for next year’s Ten Outstanding UN SDG Awards, and will receive a Certificate of Outstanding Recognition in celebration of this milestone.
The Office of the Student Regent and FEMSUSSCO extend their heartfelt gratitude to the MSU System leadership, Chancellors, Superintendents, faculty, student councils, and community partners whose support made these accomplishments possible. This recognition reflects the collective effort, passion, and dedication of MSU students to create a sustainable, inclusive, and empowered future.
