The RISE Team with Mayor Frederick Siao of Iligan.
As part of its stakeholder engagement efforts, the Project RISE team conducted a series of courtesy visits with key local officials. The team was warmly received by Mayor Siao and Ms. Jeniffer Densing, representing the Local School Board. The welcoming atmosphere fostered a productive dialogue, reinforcing the shared goal of enhancing educational outcomes within the city.
During the meetings, the team presented a comprehensive overview of Project RISE, including its background, core objectives, and guiding framework. Emphasis was placed on the project’s milestones and accomplishments to date, particularly the successful development and implementation of instructional materials, capacity-building activities for educators, and ongoing field engagements in partner schools. The discussion highlighted how these efforts have contributed to improving teaching practices and enriching student learning experiences across participating institutions. In addition, the team shared current outputs and emerging results, demonstrating the project’s growing impact at the grassroots level. These presentations served not only to inform but also to affirm the value of sustained collaboration between academic institutions, local stakeholders, and international partners.
A key component of the visit involved the presentation of proposals and specific areas where support from the local government is being sought. These include potential resource augmentation, policy alignment, and expanded program implementation to reach a broader base of beneficiaries. The team articulated how such support would enhance the scalability and sustainability of Project RISE initiatives.
The engagement concluded with a positive outlook toward strengthening partnerships. It is earnestly hoped that the proposals presented will be favorably considered by the local government and the Local School Board. Through this collaborative partnership, Project RISE aspires to extend its reach to more learners, further empower educators through continuous professional development, and promote sustainable, innovative educational practices that will benefit the entire Iligan City community.
