As we mark the 52nd Founding Anniversary and Intramurals 2025 of Mindanao State University–General Santos, we celebrate not only the passing of years but the progress, resilience, and unity that continue to define our University. This occasion reminds us of how far we have come and how steadfast we remain in our mission to uphold excellence, inclusivity, service, and nation-building.

Even before I began my stint as Chancellor, I was already inspired by the vast potential of this University. Now, serving in this role, I find great joy and fulfillment in the strong sense of community we have built here in MSU-Gensan. Working with our brilliant faculty and staff, alongside our ever-energetic students, gives me a deep sense of pride. Their dedication and passion reflect the synergy of action and aspiration that drives MSU forward. Truly, our University is fostering excellence in every endeavor we pursue.

For more than five decades, MSU-Gensan has been a center of learning, culture, and peace in Mindanao. What started as a vision to provide quality and accessible education has grown into a vibrant academic community that values innovation, diversity, and service to the people. This celebration is a moment to honor our shared achievements and renew our commitment to make education a force for transformation and progress.

The Intramurals, as part of this celebration, remind us that learning goes beyond the classroom. It teaches discipline, teamwork, and respect. To all our contingents, I wish you good luck. Compete wholeheartedly, but remember that beyond winning, it is the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship that matters most.

For over half a century, our university has stood as a landmark of excellence and service and a resilient beacon of hope, a crucible where leaders of the region and the nation are made, and dreams take flight to soar greater heights in various fields. We honor the collective journey of generations and dedicated administrations, past and present, committed to our guiding principle of service. In the new era of Chancellor Atty. Shidik T. Abantas – it is Fostering Excellence.

EXCELLENCE; it is our terra firma, our foundation of the service we give to the nation. With our growing family, we continue to work and inspire the next generation to shape the future of Mindanao and the entire Philippines. Each story of an MSUan is dedicated to the pages of our university’s colorful history. You are a legacy of excellence.

As the Chairperson of this year’s event, we take our celebration and the Intramurals 2025 as our commitment not just to excellence but also to promote the Sustainable Development Goals. I believe that we have the best Intramurals because we prove that character, discipline, and the spirit of a champion are in us. This is where we learn the ability to get back up when we are knocked down. This is where we learn a valuable life strategy —the art of working together, synchronized as one unbeatable university.
