The key teaching duties that I performed while instructing this class included:
- Assisted in lesson assessment development
- Instructed students in basic principles of scientific inquiry and generation of hypotheses
- Instructed and assisted students in creation of a hypothesis they would test to provide results as a semester long project
- Instructed introductory labs on the topics of:
- Field observation
- Use of Excel for data processing and interpretation
- Permeability and porosity of surface soils and rocks
- Sediment size distribution
- Surface water chemistry
- Aquatic macroinvertebrates
- Riparian zone ecology
