Communicative Koine

A Portfolio of Thoughts and Resources from Paul Nitz

For Koine Greek Teachers

Communicative Koine Portfolio

I am passionate about making learning accessible to the average learner. This site showcases what I have learned about making Koine Greek accessible. Here you will find nearly all of my thinking on the topic and resources I have developed. This is the result of thousands of engaging interactions with other learners and teachers of Greek, formal course work done for a Master’s in Foreign Language Teaching from Michigan State University, and over fifteen years of teaching Koine in the Lutheran Bible Institute, Lilongwe, Malawi. Browse the tabs and enjoy. Post your comments and questions in the Forum. Paul D. Nitz

About Me

I have many roles: father, missionary, pastor, teacher. I have many deep interests: Dialogue Education (TM), book making, Lencioni, Clifton, and Wickman. But here you will find the fruits of one of the longest roles and deepest passions I have invested in - the study of the acquisition of one of the most important languages in the world, Koine Greek. I began teaching Greek in 2003, but only really began to understand how to teach it in 2011. Since then, I have devoted much of my life to understanding Communicative Language Teaching and how it can be employed in helping others learn Koine. My Christian name is Paul. My Greek name is Σαῦλος
