Hello! こんにちは! I'm currently an English assistant language teacher on the JET (Japanese Exchange and Teaching) Program in Japan! I'm originally from Colchester, Connecticut, and did my undergraduate at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan, and my master's degree at Michigan State University, in East Lansing, Michigan. I've also done two study abroad periods on the pursuit of understanding language during my undergraduate career; the first at Oxford University in Oxford, UK, and the second at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Beppu, Japan. I absolutely love exploring languages, reading, writing and especially traveling. I am a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society via Michigan State University.
This portfolio is a comprehensive piece of work put together for the Master of Foreign Language Teaching (MAFLT) Program at Michigan State. It combines work that was previously submitted in the various classes taken during the time I spent studying. These works have been edited and revised from the previous coursework.
Throughout the MAFLT program, I have focused on learning the pedagogical advantages of Foreign Language Teaching (FLT), as well as several ways of teaching a second or foreign language, through using assessments, different language teaching styles and hands-on practice by implementing coursework into my own classroom when possible. The information on the right are quick links to some of the larger works I did during the MAFLT program.
