About Me: This year marks my 27th year teaching Social Studies at Maple Shade High School. I've taught numerous courses during my tenure, including American Studies I, American Studies I Honors, American Civics, Social Studies 8, World Cultures, World Cultures Honors, World Geography, World History, World History Honors, U.S. History I, U.S. History I Sheltered Instruction, U.S. History I Honors, U.S. History II, Culture and Society, and Careers. My love for History traces back to my 9th grade teacher, Mr. Tallant, who had a unique way of making class fun. My love for History continued at Gettysburg College where I also played softball. The teachers/professors within my discipline had one thing in common, a passion for History. Ever since my first year teaching in 1999, spreading a passion for History has been my goal. In addition to teaching, I've coached Softball and Basketball and advised the History Club which participates in Model U.N. Personally, I have four daughters who keep me very busy coaching softball and carpooling to field hockey, tennis, soccer, basketball, softball, track and field, and volleyball. You can find my contact information in my syllabus for each class if you need. I hope this year proves to be a fantastic year for you all!
