Our school has a new officer, and she is very interesting! Officer Tia is new to our school and the Falcon Community, so here are some things that I and every other Frelinghuysen student should know about her.
Falcon Press: When did you first want to become a police officer?
Officer Tia: I worked for a Newark Municipal Prosecutor when I was 17-21 years old, and I developed a love for criminal justice.
FP: How long have you been a police officer?
OT: Going on 15 years.
FP: Were you ever scared or nervous as an officer?
OT: Never scared, but always alert and prepared.
FP: How did it feel when you finally became an officer?
OT: Proud and ready to protect.
FP: Did you go through the Police Academy?
OT: I went for 6 months.
FP: Have you ever worked at another school?
OT: No, FMS is my first.
FP: What are you looking forward to at FMS?
OT: Establishing a new career path and hopefully being a piece to some young person’s puzzle as they journey through life.
FP: What is your favorite team or sport?
OT: Basketball, Golden State Warriors.
FP: What was your favorite subject in school?
OT: Language Arts.
FP: What is your favorite song?
OT: Goapele the artist (Closer) the song R&B.
FP: What was your favorite school memory?
OT: I was captain of the cheerleading team.
FP: Were you involved in any after school clubs?
OT: Debate team, student council and young leaders club.
