On Friday, September 29th, FMS left the school splashed with waves of color. The Color Run was a great, school-wide event, that was a blast. The laughter was audible as students ran through the colorful powder. The event was a great way to have fun and show support for anti-bullying efforts. The hard work of all of the people who organized the event really paid off. Tons of students and teachers showed school spirit on Friday. So many people participated that we raised over $5,000 for the school.
To begin, who organized this vibrant event? Mrs. Bozza and Mrs. Bremer were two of the main teachers, in partnership with the FMS HSA, who pulled the event together. As well as the numerous teachers, administrators, student council, and parent volunteers who helped out. Mrs. Bozza described the event as “inspiring” and “a huge success.” This event clearly took a lot of planning, and I would like to thank all involved.
Furthermore, this was a great way to raise school spirit. Mrs. Bozza said “80-90% of the students participated.” That is almost 1,000 students who wore white to “white out bullying” and ran through the multi colored dust. Obviously kids heard Mrs. Bremer’s reminders to “Wear white on Friday!” Mrs. Bremmer called the event “amazing” and said “I went home feeling so full of spirit!” There weren’t many students who didn’t look like a rainbow on Friday. So many people participated that we know there is a ton of spirit at FMS. Everyone loved the prospect of this Color Run, and so many participated in the actual event.
Without a doubt, the Color Run brought in a lot of money. We raised about $7,000 in total. Half of the money will go to the HSA. The rest will be divided between each of the grades.
Without a doubt, Falcons care about our school. Maybe it was the prospect of the Falcon Cup, but whatever it was, so many people contributed to the school. This money will really help with funding activities, programs, supplies and more. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
Overall, the Color Run was extremely successful. It was a great event that raised money and school spirit.
