My purpose as a teacher is not just to impart knowledge, but to guide students towards a life of purpose and long-term flourishing. I aim to inspire them to use their unique gifts to serve their community, to observe the world more deeply, and to express themselves more effectively. I encourage them to practice inclusivity and kindness while also pursuing truth and being authentic to who they are.
My name is Mr. Dalebout, and you can call me Mr. Dalebout. I look forward to being your teacher this year.
I have been a secondary social studies educator teaching subjects such as US Government, World History II, US History, Economics, and English since 2011. I am an Idaho native and have lived in Moscow, ID, since 2005. I received a bachelor’s degree in Education with a focus on Social Sciences from the University of Idaho (UI) in 2011 and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, also from UI. I have been married for 17 years to Kate and have three sons: Liam (14), Finn (11), and Milo (6). My hobbies include playing bass guitar and drawing. I also have several creative side jobs, such as graphic art, officiating weddings and funerals, podcasting, making short films, and voice work.
My commitment to continuous learning and professional development is unwavering. I consistently enhance my teaching skills through workshops, conferences, in-service meetings, college classes, and seminars. In 2020, I was honored to be selected as a Fulbright Scholar by the United States Government, and Idaho has recognized me as a “Master Educator.” Teaching is not just a job for me, it's a passion, and I plan to continue doing it for the foreseeable future. So, rest assured, you are in good hands with me this year!
