I am the social studies teacher for the Bravo Team at Mascoutah Middle School.

Class INformation

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the course is to provide students with a thorough understanding of the development of the American Nation through analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. Students will be provided with an understanding of the Americas prior to European colonization, factors leading to colonization, effects of colonization and the development of and reasons behind the formation of the United States. The course will cover US History from the inception of the country through Reconstruction after the Civil War. Students will learn to think historically as they evaluate our country’s early history through utilization of critical thinking, primary sources, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.
