Starting something new, especially the gym, can feel intimidating.
One of the biggest worries people have is not knowing what to expect from that very first session. Will it be intense? Will you feel judged? Will you be pushed too hard? Will everyone be watching?
The reality is very different.
Your first session isn’t about being pushed to your limits or proving anything. It’s about getting to know you, understanding where you’re starting from, and building a plan that feels realistic and manageable.
We start with a conversation. Your goals, your experience, any injuries, what you enjoy, and what you don’t. There’s no pressure. Just understanding what you need.
From there, we move into simple movements and exercises to get a feel for how you move and what feels comfortable. Nothing complicated, nothing overwhelming, and definitely nothing designed to leave you exhausted.
The goal of that first session is confidence, not intensity.
It’s about helping you feel comfortable in the space, understand how things work, and leave knowing you’ve taken the first step. For most people, the biggest win isn’t the workout itself, it’s realising that starting wasn’t as scary as they thought.
In a private training environment, this becomes even easier. There are no crowds, no waiting for equipment, and no pressure to keep up with anyone else. You can focus on yourself, at your own pace, with guidance the whole way through.
Most people walk in feeling nervous. They leave feeling relieved, supported, and more confident than when they arrived.
You don’t need to be fit to begin. You just need a place where you feel comfortable starting.
If you’ve been putting off the gym because you’re unsure what that first step looks like, you’re not alone, and you’re exactly the type of person I help.
Feel free to get in contact, with any questions you may have. I will be happy to help.
