FISH / Friends in Service to Humanity of Northwestern Connecticut The Mission of FISH is to provide the most basic of human needs… food, shelter & hope.
FISH NWCT operates a 35-bed emergency shelter in Torrington that accepts single adults and families with children. Five beds are dedicated to veterans. The FISH Shelter Program provides supportive services and case management to residents with the goal of finding permanent supportive housing. The FISH Food Pantry provides supplemental food to our neighbors in need.
The address is 332 South Main Street, Torrington CT. The Food Pantry entrance is at their Brooker Street parking lot. Volunteers, food donations, and monetary donations are accepted and needed. For more information, visit fishnwct.org/ways-to-help.html
Volunteering may include:
Physical labor (EX: moving boxes, sorting, stacking, etc.)
Interacting with people (EX: helping at fairs, managing/working with children and/or adults, etc.)
Specific requests (EX: helping at a specific event, food drives)
