2023.02.10 Epidemic Prevention Notice
Dear Teachers, Staff, Students, and Parents,
The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced that all levels of schools will follow the eased indoor mask policy starting from 3/6 based on the latest mask regulations from the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) on 2/9.
Considering there were Chinese New Year holiday and winter break before the spring semester started, and the upcoming 4-day Peace Memorial holiday, MOE planned to strengthen temperature check and campus disinfection work for two to three weeks after the semester starts to monitor student health status and maintain campus hygiene.
To cooperate with the epidemic prevention guidance from MOE, Mingdao will maintain the current covid policy from 2/13 to 3/5. Take your temperature every day, wear a mask (when staying indoor areas and taking public transportation), and wash hands frequently. Eased mask policy will be implemented in all levels of schools starting from 3/6.
Besides, CECC has adjusted the timing for covid tests during the self-health management period starting from 2/7. The policy of testing on the entry day, testing on the first day of self-health management or listed as close contact, and the requirement of providing covid tests result done within two days are canceled. Covid tests will be required only when any symptoms are shown during the self-health management period.
Please be aware of the above policy changes and fully implement epidemic prevention measures to keep everyone healthy and safe.

Ease Current Mask Policy and Student Moderna Bivalent Vaccine
Dear Teachers, Staff, Students, and Parents,
Based on the announcement from the CECC on 11/28, loosen mask-wearing rules starting on 12/01 are stated below.
The requirement that people need to wear a mask at all times outdoors will be discontinued.
The mask-wearing rules for large-scale year-end or New Year’s Eve countdown events will be further discussed based on recent developments in the pandemic situation.
The mask rules will remain in place for indoor settings, including inside a vehicle, such as a train, ship, or aircraft.
Teachers and students should still put on masks in class.
Indoor exercising, singing, playing instruments, dancing courses, or taking individual/group photos are not required for wearing masks. CECC indicates that Taiwan has now entered the self-epidemic prevention level. Therefore, it is still recommended to put on masks when there are too many people around, unable to maintain social distance, and the air is not well-ventilated. In addition to preventing COVID-19, putting on masks can also protect everyone from contracting flu and respiratory infections. The mask rules are not totally canceled yet, all teachers and students are required to wear masks. The current policies for temperature check and dining rules will still be maintained.
Moderna Bivalent Vaccine Survey for Students
To cooperate with Taichung City Government to process the Moderna bivalent COVID-19 booster shot for teenagers above 12 years old, a survey will be provided for calculating the number of students who are qualified and agreed to get the booster on campus. Homeroom teachers are responsible for completing the survey before 12/06.

Had been 12 weeks from the previous dose of Covid-19 vaccine. (Before 9/15)

Latest COVID Test Kits Info
Due to the rapid changes of the current epidemic situation, the COVID test kit distribution from Taichung Educational Bureau is unable to cope with the reported speed of confirmed cases on campus. Our rapid test kits are about to be out of stock and will no longer be provided recently. The rapid test kits can be now easily purchased in pharmacies and stores by providing personal ID and health insurance cards. Please understand our difficulties and prepare enough test kits at home to solve the urgent need. Families with financial difficulties can apply for the test kits from school.
If you have any symptoms, do a test in the morning before coming to campus to avoid spreading.

2022.04.27 MDHS Epidemic Prevention Notice
0425 CDC Announcement - Regarding contact tracing and quarantine
From now on, the footprints of confirmed cases will no longer be provided but the main epidemic contact tracing will be carried out by local governments.
The quarantine period is adjusted into a “3+4 plan” starting from 4/26, including three days of home isolation plus four days of self-health monitoring. Faculty, staff, and students are required not to come to school before the seven-day period is complete.
Mingdao Policy Adjustment - Based on the above CDC announcement
During the “3+4” period, faculty, staff, and students are not allowed to be on campus for school or work. Individuals should follow the government guidance and provide the test result on the last day of self-health monitoring. One can then be back on campus if there are no symptoms.
Lifting the restriction on the faculty who receive an epidemic alert message by the government or an overlapping footprints notification by the contact tracing app.
Mask Policy Restates
The CDC stresses that one will be at high risk of epidemic exposure if not wearing a mask for over 15 minutes when 2 individuals are involved in a face-to-face activity. This is also a key factor in the epidemic contact tracing. Therefore, only by wearing masks properly can we reduce the impact of epidemics on our lives.
Should wear masks all the time during eating and drinking.
Should wear masks all the time and take the seats based on the seating chart when taking the school buses.
Should wear masks all the time during breaktime or after-school activities.
Do not eat in the public areas or while walking. Stay in your homeroom or office with your desk partition on and avoid chatting. If you join the study hall at night and need a place to eat, there is an empty classroom in the basement of the Hong Dao building. Put on your mask at once after eating.
Courses
Wear your masks at all times during PE class. However, you are permitted to take off your mask when doing sports if no respiratory symptoms. Should put it back on immediately if you are not involved in any sports activity.
Wear your masks at all times except for swimming, taking a shower, using any specific facility, etc. Swimming classes will be resumed next week (5/2). If in doubt, parents may apply to be excused for their children from not swimming course.
In music classes, sharing instruments (mouthpiece) are prohibited and masks are allowed to be taken off based on teachers’ teaching needs. However, should still wear the masks before and after the class.
