3rd place at state!

The Mahomet-Seymour Math Team took 3rd place at the ICTM State Competition this weekend. The only two teams in our division that beat us were two private schools from the Chicago area.

In our division over 53 schools had at least one student/team represented at the state meet, with 16 being full team qualifiers (composed of 20-30 students). All meet results can be found at: http://www.ilmathcontest.com/HS/default.htm but the top 7 school results in 2A are listed below:

Great job to the whole team! As I said...so many of these kids worked so hard for months and represented Mahomet-Seymour so well at the State Competition!

The Mahomet-Seymour Math Team won our Regional yesterday at Parkland (that makes 8 in a row!):

We now advance to the State Finals to compete at U of I on May 5th (and to try and make it 3 in a row!). Of the 15 events at Regionals, we placed 1st in 14 of them. I am very proud of how hard all the mathletes worked to prepare for the Regional! Individual/team awards include:
