Greenhouse and Gardens

The main greenhouse was constructed by students during the summer of 2004. Gardens were formed soon after. Physics students installed solar panels in 2007. Two years later a solar-powered, rain water, sub-irrigation system was designed and implemented. A high tunnel hoophouse was erected in 2013 to grow peppers and tomatoes for hot sauce. That same year we built an aquaponics system to raise Tilapia. In 2014 our chicken coop was built by students and we started raising laying hens. Our Quebec-style clay oven was built by students during the summer of 2017.
