Four Winds Nature Program

Adults and children learning together and exploring nearby natural places is what Four Winds’s Nature Program is all about. It is the dedication of volunteers – their time and energy – that makes this happen.

The Nature Program offers monthly two-hour natural science workshops in your community for adults interested in sharing their love of nature with school children. Each training session includes informational presentations and indoor and outdoor activities. With over 40 lessons, we divide our program into five year-long courses of study, each focusing on a different key science standard.

Each school has two Volunteer Coordinators who act as the liaison between the education staff at Four Winds and the volunteers, the school teachers and administrators, and the community at large. Volunteers work in teams of two or more to bring children outside each month to look, discover, and learn.
