Rohwer families,

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at parent/teacher conferences next week. Conferences are a great time to talk with your child's classroom teacher about your child's strengths and opportunities for growth. We truly believe that a strong school and home partnership is key for every child's success.

The Rohwer School Improvement Team met on Tuesday, September 25th at 4:00 to look at the school's current site plan and the strategies that have been implemented. The site plan guides our focus for the building. This team will be updating our site plan throughout this school year and looking at the critical issues we are facing. Veteran's Day Assembly

Rohwer is hosting a special Veteran’s Day Assembly for our students and honorees on Monday, November 12 at 9:00 AM in the Rohwer Gym.

If your family has someone they wish to honor at this special assembly, please complete the form at this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfrKLkxPlg9mid6f8fbJSl5IwJ3PQRWcgQrDkgy9bHOGQzRNw/viewform?c=0&w=1 by Friday, November 2. We would like to read the names of those we honor that have served, or are serving, this country with pride.

We are proud we have so many interested and involved in the service and protection of our country. Due to the size of our gym and our student body population, we ask that only our students and those being honored participate in this great event.

Rohwer students and staff recently held our Celebrating Differences Day. This is a great event that provides our students and staff the opportunity to increase our awareness of disabilities and strengthen our appreciation of the uniqueness of each of us as individuals.

Rohwer Carnival

Tonight’s carnival festivities have been moved inside! Fortunately, Rohwer has the space to keep us warm! If the rain stays away, the bounce houses will be outside, have your little ones bundle up to jump! Tickets are available for purchase at the event, they are 4/$1.00, cash or check only. If you have preordered your tickets, they will be in today’s Friday Folders. Food trucks will be here at 5:30; Marco’s Pizza is cash only. We’re using a new vendor this year, and the games and prizes are much better! The prizes were delivered yesterday, and we’re very excited about them. (Well, as excited a parent can be about carnival prizes.) ;) We hope to see you all tonight!

It’s Box Tops collection time!

Halloween Parties & Parade

The Rohwer Halloween Parties and Parade will be held on Wednesday, October 31st. The parties will begin at 12:45, followed by the school parade at 1:45. Each classroom is allowed 5 volunteers, spots are filled on a first come-first serve basis. If you would like to volunteer for your child's classroom party, please click on the Sign-Up Genius link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508054aadae2da0fb6-halloween It is with children's safety in mind that only parents who have signed up to volunteer for the Halloween parties will attend the classroom parties. This helps us ensure the safety and security of our school building. All parents are welcome to watch the Halloween Parade outside of the building.

If you are volunteering for the classroom parties, we ask that you please make other arrangements for younger siblings, as space is limited. If you have more than one child at Rohwer, please only sign up to help in one classroom.

As a volunteer, you will be responsible for planning, prepping, and/or carrying out a party game/activity. This includes set up in the classroom as well as clean up. Please keep in mind that students tend to complete activities faster than you anticipate, so it is vital that you have back up activities.
