This is a great way to keep your children reading over the summer!!!

Field Day/School Picnic

Our Field Day/School Picnic is scheduled for Friday, May 17th. Feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on, we'll be eating on the playground. We ask that you leave all pets at home.

Everyone is welcome to join us and guests will need to provide their own lunches. Please disregard the district lunch choices for 5/17. If your student is eating a school lunch, they will have the choice of turkey/cheese sub, ham/cheese sub, or sunbutter/jelly sandwich and will meet you outside with their sack lunch. If you are bringing a lunch for your student, they will go directly outside to meet you. Below are the adjusted lunch times for this day:

Rohwer brought home the 1st place trophy for the 4th straight year and did an amazing job! Congrats Rohwer Rockets!!

Thank you to Jane Buresh and our AMAZING Rohwer PTO for our Kindness Weaving project. The students really enjoyed adding their string to the project and participating in additional Kindness activities throughout the week.

PTO

Dear Rohwer Parents,

We cannot begin to thank you enough for a wonderful year! Ann and I have thoroughly enjoyed our PTO presidency and are looking forward to the 2019-20 school year. We appreciate those of you who took the time to fill out our Survey Monkey survey and wanted to share some of the result highlights with you.

Fun Run: It was a huge success, raising close to $35,000! A few folks voiced concerns about having a second fundraiser when we had already done a donation drive in the fall. In the past, we’ve advertised our donation drive as a “one and done...You give now, we won’t ask for more later.” However, our donation drive used to net an easy $25,000 while in recent years, we’ve seen a steady decline. This fall, we removed the “one and done” verbiage from our campaign knowing that we may need to have another fundraiser to subsidize our budget. We sincerely apologize for any confusion this has caused; we want to remain as transparent as possible. Next fall, we will NOT be doing a fall donation drive. We will continue the Fun Run as our primary source of income. Of course, we will have other things throughout the year that generate a small amount of revenue (carnival, spirit wear, yearbooks), but those are not our primary source of funding. The students and teachers loved our Fun Run and had an absolute blast with the pre-run videos, challenges, and celebrations. The kids have earned the “right” to slime Mrs. Burton and also to dunk some of their teachers on Field Day!

Communication: We have three primary means of communication. The bi-weekly school newsletter, the Rohwer PTO Facebook page (www.facebook.com/rohwerpto), and Friday Folders. The most viewed is the school newsletter. We will continue to communicate using all three resources. If you have specific questions or concerns, we are ALWAYS available to chat with you! Ann Broyhill-Schram, 402-740-7555, abroyhill.schram@gmail.com and Erin Oberhauser, 402-677-1883, RealtorErin@me.com.

Activities: You make us blush. Our survey responses show that the majority are happy with what we provide. That being said, we are also looking to make some improvements next year. We plan to change our art program, offer field trip money to each grade, improve the landscaping at the front of the building (yes, there is landscaping there – if you look close enough, you can see it through the weeds), and more! Our gaga pit will be complete within the week and we plan to have picnic tables and benches installed over the summer. We are so excited for the enrichments the future holds for our children.

Again, thank you, thank you, and thank you!!! We look forward to seeing you at the first 2019-20 PTO meeting in September!

Love,

Erin and Ann
