January 10th Newsletter
Hello Rockwell Community,
Happy New Year!
We hope you all had a wonderful winter break. We were so excited to welcome back our students—we truly missed them!
Here are a few exciting events coming up:
K-Kids Blanket-a-thon:
Join us next Tuesday for this meaningful event! We’d love to see you there.
Valentine’s Day Parent Planning Party:
Mark your calendars for this Thursday! Parents interested in attending classroom Valentine’s Day parties will need to participate in our planning meeting or reach out via email to Ms. Bressman at dbressma@mpsomaha.org.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a fantastic start to the new year!
Sincerely,
Laura Malcom
You Are A Piece Of Our Puzzle
Morning Drop Off:
At Rockwell we have a very active carpool and it is imperative all parents, guardians, etc follow the expectations for arrival and dismissal.
Remember there is no parking at the start of the pick up lane.
There will be orange cones out to remind parents of the no parking. Buses and Spark will run as usual on the first day.
Students will begin heading inside when the 8:15am bell rings!
If you are able to walk or carpool, this will help our morning flow.
After school Pick Up:
Preschool dismisses at 3:25 and K-5 students dismiss at 3:30
We ask that K-5 grade parents wait to pull into the Rockwell carpool lanes until all Preschool parents and buses are able to pull through the drive through.
All K-5 students will be dismissed at our regular time of 3:30.
Buses, daycare vans and SPARK will run as usual. Please be sure classroom teachers have the most up to date after school plans for your child.
It’s very important that you talk with your child/children about their after school plans each day. Please make sure they understand what they are supposed to do.
We ask that no animals be brought onto the school property during arrival and dismissal.
This is for the safety and security of all staff, students, and community members.
Thank you for understanding!
Tonight Is The Night!
On January 21st, ballots will be mailed to all Millard voters. Millard Public Schools is seeking a bond for safety, security, renovations, and maintenance. The bond is $158 million dollars, and it would not increase the tax rate. This is possible through Millard’s consistent bond cycle and commitment to refinancing bonds. More information is available at mpsomaha.org.
We will be holding our annual Blanket-A-Thon sponsored by K-Kids on Tuesday, January 14th from 6:30-8:00. Before Winter Break, flyers were sent home with RSVP slips. We are now accepting online RSVPs to our event! Please access the link to RSVP here and review the attached flyer!

Attention All 4th & 5th Graders!
Week of Jan. 13-17 Team C
Our fifth grade students will continue to provide crosswalk coverage at each of the crosswalks. This year supervision at those crosswalks will run from 8:10-8:25am and 3:25-3:40, 2:25-2:40 (W). If your child is needing to cross before/after that time, please plan to have an adult walk them across.
With the weather changing, please make sure your student on safety patrol is dressed for the weather. If the temperature/wind chill is below zero, safety patrol will be cancelled. Please check the 5th Grade Facebook page for updates in the morning.
