August 23rd Newsletter
Hello Rockwell Community,
I wanted to share with you two important Rockwell traditions: Kind Kid Awards and Citizen Of The Month.
What is a Kind Kid? Throughout their school day students will receive ROCK tickets showing one or more of the following traits: R-Respectful, O-Own Your Actions, C-Calm and Safe, and K-Kind. If a student receives a ROCK ticket they will put a copy of the ticket in their grade level basket and every two weeks we will draw a name and that student will be the Kind Kid for their grade level!
What is a Citizen Of The Month? Each month we will have a positive character trait focus. This month we have been focusing on showing perseverance. Over morning announcements we review what it looks like and sounds like to have perseverance at school. Classroom teachers will nominate 1 kiddo per classroom to receive this monthly honor. The nominated student will bring home a C.O.M. yard sign, a certificate from their teacher, and have a pizza party with the principal the following Friday.
We are excited for this next week as our orchestra (4th & 5th grade) and band (5th only) students begin their lessons. It will be great to hear them grow as musicians this year.
Sincerely,
Laura Malcom
You Are A Piece Of Our Puzzle
We ask that no animals be brought onto the school property during arrival and dismissal.
This is for the safety and security of all staff, students, and community members.
Thank you for understanding!
Rockwell, let's strive to Be Present-Be Powerful!
Week of Aug. 26-30 Team C
Our fifth grade students will continue to provide crosswalk coverage at each of the crosswalks. This year supervision at those crosswalks will run from 8:10-8:25am and 3:25-3:40, 2:25-2:40 (W). If your child is needing to cross before/after that time, please plan to have an adult walk them across.
